Sunday night February 22, at about 3am in the morning, Inglewood, CA police shot and killed Kisha Michael and Marquintan Sandlin. Kisha was 31 years old, a mother of 3 sons. Marqintan was 32 years old, a father of 4 daughters. When Inglewood police approached their parked car on Manchester Blvd., both were unconscious. They were sleeping. The Mayor of Inglewood, a former police chief, has admitted publicly both Kisha and Marquintan were not awake when a so-called "confrontation" led to the police shooting and killing Kisha and Marquintan. Inglewood police said they felt "threatened" by these two unconscious people, passed out in a car. Police say Kisha had a gun in her right hand, while she was sleeping, when they came up to check the car. Inglewood police then called in SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) and at least one armored car and equipped themselves with high-powered weapons and trained the weapons on the car. Police organized a military style operation to "de-escalate" a situation where two people were alone in their car, asleep. Apparently, using a megaphone, police demanded Kisha and Marquintan exit the car. Whether Kisha and Marquintan ever woke up isn't yet known, but after 45 minutes, Inglewood police opened fire with automatic weapons and executed both Kisha and Marquintan. Family and friends of Kisha and Marquintan will gather for an emergency protest Saturday, March 5, at 2pm to demand justice, at the site of the killing by Inglewood police.
